    NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL:
    WOODLAND HILLS-TARZANA
    CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

This Woodland Hills - Warner Center Neighborhood Council is a local city government entity to serve the greater Woodland Hills area including Warner Center. The Los Angeles city charter reform created provisions for such an entity. Interested individuals with a stake in the welfare of the community area have been working together since early 2000 in an effort to create a neighborhood council consistent with the approved city plan, and which would meet the needs of our neighborhood.

The Plan for a Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils (Plan) was approved on May 30, 2001 by the City Council through an ordinance.

The text for this plan can be found at:
    http://www.lacityneighborhoods.com/Documents/plan_final_053001.pdf

The Plan establishes a flexible framework through which people in neighborhoods may be empowered to create Neighborhood Councils to serve their needs. The Plan also sets minimum standards to ensure that Neighborhood Councils represent all stakeholders in the community, conduct fair and open meetings, and are financially accountable.
