Since 1912, Girl Scouts has been inspiring girls with the ideals of courage, confidence, and character. The new Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles is committed to the organization's goal of encouraging leadership skills in girls and young women through exciting programs and opportunities.
Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles serves 45,000 girls in partnership with 22,000 volunteers from more than 350 diverse communities of Los Angeles County and parts of Kern and San Bernardino counties. Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles is the largest girl-serving non-profit agency in Los Angeles, and operates seven Service Centers, 14 Program Centers, and five Campsites all spanning 4,000 square miles.
Girl Scout programs are based on the themes of leadership development, life skills and community service. They are girl-led, cooperative, and interactive, and each falls under one of five areas: Arts & Culture, Business Smarts, Environment & Outdoor Adventure, Wellness & Healthy Living, and Science & Technology (STEM).
