POCWASN Org. offer (Self-care) fitness, wellness, counseling, and specialty services to parents, caregivers and sibling of special needs individuals. The purpose of the organization is to offer rejuvenation and mind/body health conscious services to the underserved parents, caregivers and sibling community.
Our program participants (target populations) live with the responsibility of round the clock care for individuals that are unable to care for themselves. This includes meal preparation, (sometimes feeding), cleaning, entertaining, the provision of medicine, physical and/or behavioral therapy as well as much other daily life-sustaining necessities for an individual living with a disability. All of these daily and sometimes hourly duties can wear on the parents, caregivers, and sibling both physically and mentally. Without a break, the caretakers can burnout.
POCWASN works to lift the parents, caregivers, and sibling out of isolation, protect them from societal neglect, and ensure their access to quality self-care service. Parents, caregivers, and the sibling who feel nurtured and supported are able to better nurture their families.
