Hope all are well. There are businesses open. Some operating as usual and some remotely or mail order. Keep in touch. Don't wait until restrictions are lifted to make inquiries or investigate issues or matters. Keep in touch. And, stay safe!

Marketing the Chamber gets a little difficult under our current restrictions. We're making every effort to make sure that our members and our communities recognize that we are communicating with the government to make all available programs to assist those in need.

Hey everyone! We have a great webinar today for Business owners. Here's the deal - we can all have 5 year plans and then some lady in China eats a bat and messes that plan up. We have to keep moving forward in a new landscape. What does that landscape look like? How do we plan for it? This webinar will help address those questions. Join me at noon today. https://nylife.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_oEQlEyNmR4aMNvWcTTNYsQ

Does anyone here have a computer they no longer need? We have a very needy man in our church who can't afford to buy one. If you can see your way clear to donate it for his use we can give you a tax receipt if you need or want it. Thank you in advance. God bless you all. Paul Shafit 818-314-3664

For any small business owners looking to start (or re-start) their online store: I put together a 52-minute guide on my YouTube channel demonstrating a free development website (free hosting locally or with SiteDistrict.com pre launch), installing and setting-up WooCommerce open-source website software (WordPress based). Store building takes at good 20 hours even if done by a pro, but I hope this can be a good start for some folks while they're working at home and adapting to the current situation. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lns-5lAKdf0 Let me know what you think! Thanks, Sean Conklin.

Hello all! I don't know anyone that couldn't benefit from a little stress relief right now. Earlier this week I received ONE Generation's April newsletter from Sue Sexton. In it I found great activities for mind, body and spirit whatever your age and all at no cost. The Metropolitan Opera streams a weekly opera every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., and there are exercise and meditation classes throughout the week to name just a few. Read more here https://conta.cc/2JAmKUk Thank you Sue!

During these scary and uncertain times I have suddenly been very busy setting up my small businesses clients to be able to work from home without having to take their computer home. Many of you are planning to work from home and and may be having to send your employees home to work remotely. So I thought I would take a minutes to share some free advice with other Chamber members to help keep everyone working through these interesting times. There is a great program that is about $23.00 yr for 1 person to connect to 2 computer. It is called RemotePC at www.remotepc.com and is actually a local Calabasas company that also has a great program called iDrive for backups that is free up to 5GB. RemotePC is easy to setup and configure without professional help, but if you have a large or small group of employees that need remote access setup or if you need help getting yourself setup to work remotely feel free to reach-out to me here at Computer Techneeks. We are a local small and home based business IT consulting company. Doug Ferguson at 818 631-3684 or [email protected] Stay safe.

Read this if you have senior clients! Medicare is offering Telehealth services to help your senior clients. Medicare has temporarily expanded its coverage of telehealth services to respond to COVID-19. Medicare beneficiaries can temporarily use telehealth services for common office visits, mental health counseling and preventive health screenings. This will help ensure Medicare beneficiaries are able to visit with their doctor from their home, without having to go to a doctor's office or hospital, which puts themselves and others at risk. If you have an existing healthcare appointment, or think you need to see your doctor, please call them first to see if your appointment can be conducted over a smartphone with video capability or any device using video technology, like a tablet or a laptop. For some appointments, a simple check-in over the phone without video capabilities may suffice. Important: If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as a cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider immediately. Get More Info Remember: Medicare covers the lab tests for COVID-19. You pay no out-of-pocket costs. For the latest information on the coronavirus, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If I can help your seniors in any way please call me. Hello My friends, In light of the recent state of the world, many of our travel partners are offering dramatic price cuts for local travel to encourage domestic instead of international trips. Today, and every day, the safety of my clients is my number one priority. We consistently monitor the state of the world and are updated by public health officials with the latest developments. To give greater flexibility when booking future travel, many airlines have extended their offers to waive change fees for customers who purchase travel to increase safety and peace of mind. Additionally, many hotel properties are offering some great promotions. Reach out to me and let me know what destinations interest you. Patty [email protected]
